Rating of Tax Information Helpline performance

Tax Information Helpline

The Tax and Customs Administration’s Tax Information Helpline is contacted between 12 and 13 million times annually by private individuals and business owners who are in need of information or help in tax-related matters.

The Tax Information Helpline has posted an “inadequate” performance rating for the sixth year running. Two surveys were held, the first of them around the New Year followed by a second survey in March. The Helpline’s final mark was shown to have improved in the interim, from 4.8 (out of 10) to 5.4. Although the majority of phoned-in questions were answered correctly, the Hotline operatives still got too many questions wrong. Finance Minister Wopke Hoekstra has pledged improvement before the current year is out.
