Sean-Paul keeps financial records, prepares value-added tax returns and compiles financial statements on behalf of Koppel’s clients. His duties bring him face to face with the client’s day to day operations to a considerably greater extent than he was had been used to professionally.
“After my high school graduation I wasn’t sure what to do next. I considered enrolling in dental school, but – as luck would have it – failed to secure a place and decided to switch to accountancy instead. Valuable learning experiences as my previous positions have been, what I always felt was lacking were career opportunities and a proper grounding in day-to-day practice. As a member of the Koppel workforce I’m in much closer contact with our clients and their business operations.
“It was in late 2017 that a recruiter got in touch with me via LinkedIn: would I be interested in a fresh challenge? Coincidentally Koppel’s offices are a five-minute walk from where I live, which is more than I could have asked for. What won me over, however, was the easy-going atmosphere. I hadn’t even taken up my duties or they invited me to have Christmas dinner with the team, where I had a great time.
Outside work I am a keen football player. I also enjoy creating music mixes on the computer and quite like to cook, with a soft spot – time permitting – for Thai dishes.”
