Are you ready for the implementation of the GDPR?

The 25th of May is the effective date of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), which from this date onwards will be the overriding data protection standard throughout Europe.

What kind of details come under the GDPR?

The GDPR will apply to any and all information enabling the identification of natural persons. This will be the case whenever information is traceable to a natural person or to any such person’s physical, psychological, mental, economic, cultural and/or social identity. This makes it very likely that the information at your disposal comes under the GDPR.

It is of the utmost importance that you should prepare your business for the new legislation, as non-compliance may result in penalties and sanctions being levied against you.
