Health care benefit

Health care and supplementary child benefit
From 2013 there will be a capital test used in determining if the health care benefit and/or supplementary child benefit will be granted.
The term capital here refers to the assets which come under box 3 of the income tax return. You will not be eligible for the health care benefit if your assets exceed € 80,000 plus your tax-free allowance. You can decrease your box 3 capital by making donations, by not requesting a provisional tax refund, or by paying off some mortgage debt (note this may also decrease your mortgage interest deduction).
