R&D and RDA

If the 22,000-plus applications which RVO.nl, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, as the implementing organisation has to date collected in respect of 2015 are anything to go by, quite a few businesses in the Netherlands will once more be availing themselves where their R&D projects are concerned of the tax credits offered under the Research and Development Act of the Netherlands and the Research and Development Allowance scheme (R&D and RDA).

The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs by means of the Research and Development (Promotion) Act cum Research and Development Allowance scheme seeks to inspire entrepreneurs to step up their research investment, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that Dutch businesses should gain greater innovative clout and solidify their competitive position internationally.

Businesses have until 31 December 2014 to file their applications for R&D activities to be launched from the first of February 2015 onwards, whereas sole traders have until the end of the current year to apply in respect of R&D activities scheduled to commence as early as on the first of January 2015.
