Sandra works as part of our team in Belgrade. She is responsible for compiling financial statements for our clients, as well as preparing value-added tax returns and working on CIT-related matters. She makes sure that the financial records are complete and accurate and in accordance with Dutch GAAP and IFRS.
Originally from Belgrade, she has spent her college years in New York. She has moved abroad followed by the path of succeeding both in the academics and athletics, being at the time an athlete who represented Serbian national team in track and field. She continued competing throughout her college years. At the same time, she interned at JPMorgan Chase as part of the Corporate Tax department where she has gained a three-year professional experience. In 2017, she graduated from St. Francis College with Master in Accounting. After graduating, she remained in the financial services industry by working as an auditor at Deloitte. This experience enabled her to broaden her knowledge in auditing and financial reporting, but most importantly it enabled her to work directly with clients on a day-to-day basis. On the other hand, it provided her with opportunities for growth and development by allowing her to involve in robotics, mentoring interns, and leading volunteer projects.
While I enjoyed working as part of large corporations, I have always felt that I would want to become a part of a smaller company, where I would be able to more closely understand the bigger picture, rather than only looking at the specific aspects of the companies. Also, given that worked in audit, I wanted to work in accounting and see how the financial figures actually come together, rather than only looking at it through an auditor’s lens. Finally, I was hoping to work in a dynamic, friendly, and innovative working environment, and that is exactly what I found at Koppel.
Outside of work, I enjoy long walks in nature with my friends, listening to deep house, and travelling the world.
